We all know that most movies aren’t real. But they do tell great stories, and there’s a lot we can learn from them! Join us as we dive into different movies to explore God’s truth, and discover ways we can make that truth real in our lives.
It’s that time of year again! At The Movies is back. We will be unpacking popular movies to explore God’s truth, and helping students apply that truth to their lives. This year’s movie lineup—drumroll please! Kung Fu Panda 2 (Rerun), Mirror Mirror, Brave, Wreck-It Ralph, Madagascar 3.
This is one of the most fun series of the year! It also has the potential to have great impact; so bring a lot of energy and have a ton of fun with it. But also make sure that the takeaway points are clearly communicated and understood by the students.
These videos were intentionally chosen to engage 1st-6th graders. This is a big age gap and can be difficult to bridge. Make sure to make it applicable for whatever age group your students fall into.
Because these messages contain movie footage, they all run at around 15 minutes. Make sure that you are starting your experience on time so you don’t cut the discussion time short. Taking time to talk it over is often what allows a life-changing message to actually change their lives.
Movies will run as follows: Week 1: Kung Fu Panda 2 (rerun from last year) Week 2: Mirror Mirror Week 3: Brave Week 4: Wreck-It Ralph Week 5: Madagascar 3
